By now, all content copy, assets, metadata and taxonomy have been finalized and confirmed, and the state has been changed to “Prepare to Publish.”
At this stage, the system generates a preview link displaying how the story will appear once it is published to MSUToday.
The preview link can be shared internally for final review, if needed. Authors can use this opportunity to confirm formatting, review embedded assets and double-check that taxonomy tags and metadata are displaying as expected.
Replace the YYYY and MM placeholders with the publication date and the content-name placeholder with the content name (using a hyphen in place of any spaces). Type this address into a browser window to preview the story.
If any final revisions are needed, they can still be made at this stage by editing the text or updating assets and metadata fields. Once everything looks correct, click the “Finalize and publish” or “Publish” button (the label may vary depending on the content template) to publish the story to MSUToday.
After publishing, the preview link automatically becomes the live public URL, and the story is listed on the MSUToday website.
Content authors must check the View All and associated topic page as well any other associated pages to confirm the story and thumbnail are displayed correctly.
The publishing process is now complete. The content is locked, and changes are limited. See “Make Changes to Published Content” for more information.
