Content Hub

Sitecore Content Hub includes two sections: Digital Asset Manager, also referred to as DAM, and Operations, or Ops. Access to both functions is limited to University Communications and Marketing staff.

Content Hub DAM is a central repository for storing, managing and distributing final assets (e.g., photos, videos, design files) used by UCAM to create quality experiences for our audiences. In the future, the DAM will become the technical infrastructure behind the photos.msu.edu website and university staff will be able to use photos from the DAM through this campus asset portal.

Content Hub Ops is the content operations management system used by UCAM for content production process management, as well as content creation on MSUToday. Ops is comprised of the Marketing Resource Management and Content Marketing Platform tools. Ops will have a phased implementation, with the full system online in July 2025. Additional documentation for Ops will be added as more features are brought online.

Key Features

Content Hub DAM

  • Upload assets to the DAM and tag them using a combination of automatically extracted metadata and manually applied tags
  • Review and approve/reject assets using a workflow system
  • Search for assets using traditional full-text search as well as a combination of facets and filters
  • Comment and annotate on assets for a collaborative review and editing process
  • Create multiple different variations of assets to deliver to different channels, including directly adding to a Sitecore website, using public links

Content Hub Ops

  • Submit content ideas for approval using a workflow system
  • View omnichannel content calendar and analytics for holistic outline of UCAM efforts and results
  • Manage content production through a collaborative creation process for the full content lifecycle
  • Integrate DAM assets with project planning elements
  • Future: Direct campaign and project organization and task management
