Sharing Assets with Media

Assets in Sitecore Content Hub can be shared with non-Content Hub users. The recipients of the shared asset(s) will be able to take a limited number of actions.

Note: It is up to the Content Hub user sharing to asset(s) to confirm that sharing is permitted. Confirm each asset is not marked for restricted usage with settings precluding sharing of the asset.

Share a Single Asset

To share a specific rendition of one asset, rather than the original full-size file, share the asset’s public link for the specific rendition. The recipient can right click on the page and click Save Image As to save the image to their device.

For more information on generating public links, see “Creating Public Links.”

Share an Asset Collection

To share a collection of assets, first create a collection and add the necessary assets. Then, share the collection. The recipient will be able to sort the assets in the collection and download the original file for each asset. Specific renditions (such as a crop or resized version) are not available in collections.

For more information on collections, see “Create and Manage Asset Collections.”

To share content to a non-Content Hub user:

  1. Click the Collections tab on the navigation bar.
  2. Locate the collection and click the collection name to open the content view.
  3. Click “Share link” on the toolbar at the top of the page.
  4. Toggle the “Create external link” switch to on, if it is not already activated.
  5. Click “Copy link” to copy the share link. Paste this into a message (e.g. email or Teams chat) to share to non-Content Hub users.
