Executive Order 14173 from the federal government requires universities to remove references to affirmative action from their websites. Changes should be made as soon as possible.
University Communications and Marketing manages two enterprise web content management systems and will update the footer for all websites in Sitecore and most websites in Cascade. Units with websites in Cascade will still need to publish their website for the change to take effect. Some units with websites in Cascade will need to make the change themselves, as will units with websites in all other web content management systems.
To help units determine what action is necessary for their site(s), we created three sections below for the three possibilities (Sitecore, Cascade framework, Cascade custom and all others) with information about what needs to be done to make the change. The Sitecore and Cascade framework sections include a list of websites so you can determine if your site(s) is in one of those systems.
The footer for all websites in Sitecore will be updated centrally by UCAM on Monday, April 21, 2025. Please check the list below to see if your website is in Sitecore. If your website is in the list below, you do not need to take any action. Content authors may notice a short outage while the updates are publishing on their site.
The footer for all websites that were built using standard components and templates in Cascade will be updated centrally by UCAM on Monday, April 21, 2025. However, units will need to publish the change for it to appear on the website. Please check the list below to see if your website is a Cascade framework site. If your website is in the list below, you will need to publish the change. The change is ready to be published.
The footer for all custom-built websites in Cascade (if your site is in Cascade and does not appear in the list above, it’s a custom site) and sites in all other web content management systems will need to be updated by the unit. The updates cannot be made centrally. Instructions for updating the footer for these sites have been provided below for your convenience.
