SitecoreAI Release Notes: February 10, 2026

By: Bobbie Roberts

Summary

This release delivers major improvements to accessibility, navigation consistency, publishing reliability and platform security. A significant update to Workflows in SitecoreAI changes how content moves from creation to publication and impacts how all content authors submit and publish content. Additional updates improve keyboard and screen reader support, address mobile usability issues, enhance publishing and workflow behavior, and strengthen deployment and infrastructure defaults.

This release will be pushed to production after 8:00pm on Tuesday, Feb. 10.  Documentation for publishing with workflows is available in the Sitecore User Guide.

Major Update: SitecoreAI Workflows

  • Updated Workflow Experience in SitecoreAI
    • A basic workflow has been enabled in SitecoreAI to support consistent publishing and future flexibility.
    • At this time, the workflow is intentionally simple: all submitted items are automatically approved.
    • This foundational setup allows us to introduce more advanced workflows in the future if and when they are needed.

What this means for content authors

  • Publishing behavior is largely unchanged.
  • The only new step is entering a short comment when submitting content.
  • Once submitted, content is automatically approved and added to the publishing queue.
  • There are no additional review steps, approvals, or delays introduced with this release.

How publishing works behind the scenes

  • Approved content is added to an automated publishing queue.
  • Incremental publishes (most page and content updates) run every 10 minutes.
  • Site root publishes (changes that affect site-wide structure or settings) also run on a scheduled cycle, offset within the same 10-minute window.
  • This means most changes will appear shortly after submission, without requiring authors to manually trigger publishing.

In practice, authors should expect content to publish within a few minutes, just as it does today.

New Features

  • Modernized Form Handler
    • Introduces a new, secure form submission handler to replace legacy email-based processing.
    • Improves security, reliability and alignment with current platform standards.
  • Site Administrator Role
    • Adds a Site Administrator role with scoped permissions for site-level management and configuration.
  • Per-Site Workflow Configuration
    • Enables support for managing workflows on a per-site basis, allowing flexibility while maintaining governance.
  • Web Application Firewall Enabled by Default for New Sites
    • Newly created sites now automatically have the Web Application Firewall enabled in active mode to improve baseline security.

Enhancements

  • Navigation & Structural Accessibility Improvements
    • Improves semantic structure, landmarks, and heading usage across main navigation, subnavigation, contextual navigation and curated navigation.
    • Enhances keyboard navigation, focus management and accessible naming for navigation elements.
  • Carousel & Media Accessibility Enhancements
    • Improves accessibility and usability of carousel and media components, including keyboard navigation, focus containment, semantic markup and mobile presentation.
    • Resolves issues with conflicting play/pause controls and missing visual indicators.
  • Default Module Updates for New Sites
    • Updates default modules for new sites, including Page Title, People Directory, News and Events, Programs and related components to improve consistency and accessibility.
  • Redirect and URL Handling Improvements
    • Enhances redirect handling and middleware behavior to support cleaner URLs and more consistent routing.
  • Deployment & Infrastructure Improvements
    • Improves deployment performance and reliability through Netlify scripting enhancements.
    • Enhances WAF-related tooling and configuration scripts to support safer operational changes.
