Content Mode

Content Mode in Page Builder provides a field-based approach to page content editing. There are no visual indications of page layout in this mode. 

To access Content Mode, click the quill “content” icon in the global toolbar of Page Builder. The field options that appear on the Content Mode screen will vary depending on what item is selected in the Content Tree in the left-side panel.

When a page is selected in the left-side panel, the Content Mode screen will contain fields related to page-level settings.

These same setting fields can be managed from the Page content tab accessed in Editor Mode from the contextual menu on a page. 

• Title – The page title displayed in the H1 tag
• Browser Title – The page title that displays on a browser’s tab
• Meta Description – The description meta tag, used by search engines and answer engines (i.e., AI-supported search)
• Meta Keywords – The keywords meta tag, used by search engines and answer engines (i.e., AI-supported search)
• No Index – Toggling this on prevents search engines from indexing the page
• No Follow – Toggling this on prevents search engine crawlers from following links on the page
• Canonical – Add a URL here if another page contains the same, or similar, information and should be the link presented in search results
• Open Graph Title – The title that appears on links and social media posts that include the page URL
• Open Graph Type – The type of open graph card used on the page
• Open Graph Image – The thumbnail image that displays when links to the page are shared, such as on social media posts
• Page Design – The template used by the page. Note: Changing this template could strip content from the page.
• Link Caption in Navigation – The text included for this page in navigation, such as breadcrumb and contextual page navigation components
• Hide Breadcrumb on Page – Toggle on to hide the breadcrumb navigation at the top of the page
• Check to Hide in Navigation Filters – Check the boxes to exclude this page from breadcrumb navigation, sidebar navigation (e.g., contextual or curated) and sitemap navigation

When an item, such as a component, is selected in the Left Side Panel, the Content Mode screen will contain fields related to item-level settings. These fields will vary, depending on the type of item selected.

Many component items include fields for title and description.

Components with an image or video will also include fields for alt text and asset path.

Components with a CTA will also include a link type, URL and link text.
