The Legal Footer is an MSU-branded component that displays at the bottom of every page. It contains MSU’s legal information, such as copyright and Notice of Nondiscrimination. This is a global-use component shared by all Sitecore sites and cannot be changed by site owners.

These items use global shared content that cannot be modified by content authors.

Contact the University Communications and Marketing platforms group (Comms.WebSupport@msu.edu). The team will evaluate the request and determine if it should be done. Since the Legal Footer is shared by all Sitecore sites, great care is taken when changing this information. Changes must also comply with MSU branding and web standards.
The Legal Footer component appears on all website pages by default and cannot be removed.
All websites must have a page named contact with unit contact information. This page is included in the site tree when the site container is provisioned to the unit. It connects to the contact link in the footer. The contact page should be updated by the unit to include unit-specific contact information. Websites will not be allowed to launch without this contact page.
The Legal Footer component cannot be modified by content authors. If a unit requires changes, contact the University Communications and Marketing platforms group.
